I’m trying to edit a part of the logo for an upcoming project of mine, where a word of the logo would be replaced.
Does anyone know what this font is? Or was is strictly procured for NYPD/government usage?
It draws upon Bank Gothic and Microgramma/Eurostile, but there are differences. The cut of the C terminals in Bank Gothic is slanted; the leg of the R in Microgramma is curved like Helvetica. Mostly, it looks hand drawn. Notice how poorly the curved corners of all the letters are shaped. The sides of the curves aren’t parallel, which is noticeable; the waist of the R in Department is low but is high in York.
