The closest I came to this font is Garamond #3 and American Garamond, however the serifs in this image from the eighties still doesn’t match, perhaps I missed something.
Here are three, but the two labeled SSI are old PS1 fonts and are pirated copies. SSI lost a patent infringement suit and are now out of business. The time period would be about correct. And the fonts have the peaked A, the tucked bowl of the P, and the leg of the R extends beyond the bowl.
